While you surf the web, your web browser downloads files and saves them somewhere on your computer. What WebSiteSniffer does is it captures all those files and saves them in a location of your choosing. Thanks to this free NirSoft application you have easy access to everything that your browser downloads & saves while you surf the web.

WebSiteSniffer is compatible with any 32- or 64-bit Windows edition, starting from the ancient Windows 2000 and going all the way up to Windows 10, which is the latest version at the time of writing this. To get started with WebSiteSniffer, you’ll have to download an archive, extract its contents, and run the WebSiteSniffer executable.

At startup, WebSiteSniffer will bring up the Capture Options menu, which lets you play with several settings: pick the folder where all the captured files will be stored; choose what types of files will be captured; specify if you want to download files only from certain domains; select a capture method; and more.

The main panel on WebSiteSniffer’s interface lists all the websites you visited while surfing the web and presents some information about all the files that were downloaded. Above this main panel there’s a traditional File Menu and a toolbar with buttons for several functions: start capture, stop capture, open website folder, and so on. Overall, the interface has a simple layout that anyone will quickly figure out.

There’s not much to say about using WebSiteSniffer. Once you’re done with the Capture Options menu, WebSiteSniffer will automatically intiate the Start Capture process every time you launch the application. Let WebSiteSniffer run in the background, go surf the web, and it will capture all the files that your browser downloads.

Just like every other NirSoft application, WebSiteSniffer is freeware. If you find it useful and you’d like to support its development, please consider making a donation.

Let WebSiteSniffer run in the background and it will capture all the files that your browser downloads while you surf the web.

Pros

WebSiteSniffer is portable software and it doesn’t need to be installed; it is compatible with any 32- or 64-bit Windows edition from Vista to 10. The interface has a simple layout and you will figure things out in no time at all. Access the Capture Options menu to customize how WebSiteSniffer works. WebSiteSniffer is free software.

Cons

None that I could think of.
